Sinai: Egypt’s hidden war
This short film under MEMO’s Flashpoints series is about the devastating effect of Egypt’s so-called war on terror on the local population in the Sinai Peninsula. Under a devastating and disproportionate campaign to eliminate extremism the Egyptian army has extrajudicially executed ordinary citizens, forcibly disappeared children and displaced thousands of people who once lived on Egypt’s border with Gaza.

Following the death of Saudi Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi, Amelia chaired his memorial in London which was broadcast live on TV channels across the world. She was one of a select few journalists who interviewed his fiancée, Hatice Cengiz, who was the last person to see Jamal alive.
