Sinai: Egypt’s hidden war

This short film under MEMO’s Flashpoints series is about the devastating effect of Egypt’s so-called war on terror on the local population in the Sinai Peninsula. Under a devastating and disproportionate campaign to eliminate extremism the Egyptian army has extrajudicially executed ordinary citizens, forcibly disappeared children and displaced thousands of people who once lived on Egypt’s border with Gaza.

Warning: this film contains footage some viewers may find disturbing.
